Can you source all required materials and project manage our required works?
Yes. The vast majority of our jobs include us sourcing all materials, handling all personnel and ensuring the project is completed to the highest standard. This is included in our service. Our experience has shown that customers who attempt to project manage multiple tradesmen and sourcing materials themselves more often than not becomes a false economy and increases overall costs. You will have a much better experience contracting a company to complete your project from start to finish.
Is there a waiting list for desired work to be started?
This depends on your requirements. It’s best to contact us for an accurate answer.

QUOTATIONS & PAYMENTS
Do you offer a free, no obligation quotation?
Of course! We’re more than happy to visit your property at a time convenient to you and quote for the required works. If you don’t own the property and are looking for us to quote on work for a property you are looking at purchasing, this is chargeable with a fixed cost.
We are looking at purchasing a property and would like an estimate for our desired works. Is this service free?
No. If you own the property we are happy to offer free quotation. Otherwise, it is costed at a one-off fee – please contact us for the exact amount depending upon your property size. This is a billable service because of the time involved and the unknown element – during the purchasing process, deals may fall through. As you can appreciate, doing estimates for many properties that are not owned is very time-consuming.
How long are quotations valid for?
Usually, three months. If you require a longer price guarantee, please speak to us directly.
How are payments handled and dealt with?
All respectable building companies will not require the full balance upfront. A detailed contract will be drawn up outlining milestones customised to your project/works when interim payments will be required. The final payment will be required only once all works are completed. Our most common payment terms are between 3 and 4 intervals.
PLANNING
Do I need planning permission?
This all depends on the work required. For most major construction projects in your home, such as extensions and conversions, you’ll need to make a building regulations application so that the local council building control team can visit the site and check that your work is compliant. I am looking to have an extension built and need advice on handling our application with the council, can you help guide us as part of your service?
Yes. GCI Builders has an excellent relationship with the city council and we are held in the highest regard by multiple building control personnel.
DESIGN PROCESS
Can you guide us through the design process?
Yes. We can have our architect draw up your plans. With our experience, we can offer advice and suggestions to match your budget.
Can you supply drawings and models to help visualise the completed project?
Absolutely. This is a great way to see what the work will look like on completion. This will also help you make any changes early on in the design process.
Can you help with the layout and interior design?
Yes, we’d be happy to help with designing your space to your specifications and budget.
